Saturday 17 - Monday 19 May 2025 inclusive

This is a fantastic opportunity to spend a 3-day weekend immersed in ballet with the brilliant James Forbat in Budapest, Hungary dancing at the Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the city during the weekend.

Our exclusive ballet retreats have no more than 8 - 10 participants, which means that everyone benefits from the very close attention and expert tuition of our royal ballet professionals.

This retreat is for Improver / Intermediate ballet dancers (with more than two years of experience).

Format

This intimate city-based dance retreat will take place across three days from Saturday 17 - Monday 19 May 2025.

We will be dancing at the Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College (BCDC), where we are lucky enough to have a live pianist for classes.

Each day will consist of 4-5 hours of expert tuition and intimate attention from Royal Ballet School trained dancer, James Forbat. After class each day you will have time to explore the city.

We will all enjoy dinner together one evening in a local restaurant (included in the price but excluding alcohol).

1-1 Lessons

James will also be offering private 1-1 lessons throughout the weekend which are available to book on request at an additional cost. Please ask Clare for details.

The Venue

The Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College is home to some fantastic professional dance studios where lessons will take place each day.

The university is located in the Újlak district, a short drive from the historic city centre.

budapest

Budapest, The Queen of the Danube, is a captivating city offering a rich blend of history, culture, and vibrant energy. With its stunning architecture, famous thermal baths, lively nightlife (if that’s your thing), and diverse dining scene, there will be plenty to keep you occupied when we’re not dancing.

Some ideas include visiting the world famous Gellert baths, a boat tour down the Danube, or simply enjoying a walk around the meandering streets of this historic city.

Price

The cost of the three-day retreat is £475 per person.

This includes 4 hours of ballet in the studio each day and one dinner in a local restaurant (excl. alcohol).

Please note that flights, transfers, accommodation and 1-1 tuition is not included in the price.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the price. However, we do have a few recommendations for hotels close to the studio:

The closest hotel to the studio is The Aquincum Hotel, which is about a 6 minute walk away. It boasts a beautiful spa that can be enjoyed after classes each day.

We recommend the 5-star Kimpton BEM for outstanding service and amenities a stone's throw from the Castle District and a 6 minute drive to the studio.

The Four Points by Sheraton is a good 4-star option that is a little further out with a 10 minute drive to the studio.
